I love being somewhere I've never been! Washington was definitely as awesome as I was expecting it to be.
First of all, they have an awesome park right downtown. With a massive red wagon. There are few things I love more than an over-sized anything, so the wagon was a big hit with me.
Plus there were carnival rides. Who doesn't love a ferris wheel? Well, me. But I stayed safely on the ground and took pictures!
And a fountain, too?! It was a dream come true.
Also: a train ride (to make up for Simon's missed ride back in BC) and a spin on the oldest running carousel. It was a beauty. A biggest and an oldest in one park?! I was loving it.
Added bonuses: sharing an elephant ear with my bigs, checking out the awesome Spokane Falls (amazing, seriously), a giant totem pole and cotton candy. Color me satisfied. Thank you, Spokane!
Next stop: Seattle!
I am going to really try to wrap up the trip quickly. I was doing so well and then lost steam, but I want this all on record! :) Plus, I have so many other things I want to post, just trying to do my due diligence and do this trip justice. So onward bound!

My mom is from Washington, but I haven't been there for YEARS, since my gramma passed away. This post makes me want to do my own "back to our roots" trip. You make it look awesome!
I lived in Spokane for 10 years while I went to jr. high and high school. Love Riverfront park. Did you guys see the trash eating goat? It's one of my favorites at the park. (It was a goat they installed for the World Fair that sucks up your trash when you put it in front of his mouth.) Fun to look at your Spokane stop of the trip!
So fun to see these pics -- I haven't been in Spokane in years either but remember it well as being awesome.
Glad you liked it!
I have to admit, I have been a blog stalker since Mason was a little 2 year old toddler and my own little guy was a baby. I hadn't checked in for a few years, found your blog by surprise, and look at you-in my little town of Spokane! These are all of my favorite things too. So glad you enjoyed it! Next time you'll have to try some of the fun culinary spots. There's a great little French Cafe called Santé down the street from the park. What fun!
